Tips & Tricks: Get Accurate Tech Times
Looking for ways to track your techs’ actual work hours to measure how efficient they are on each job? It’s as simple as 1-2-3! We get a lot of questions about this one, so we decided to highlight this feature again. Having your techs punch into jobs is one of the most accurate ways to evaluate the efficiency of their work. We can easily assist you in configuring your AutoFluent® to allow your techs to punch in and out of jobs and chores. Get excited about this scalable, easy-to-use feature!
1. Assign your techs to labor lines in the workorder.
You can only assign one tech to each job, but multiple other techs can still punch into that same job - at the same time. Multiple punches on 1 job is optional.
2. Punch in, and out.
Your techs will see jobs assigned to them by default but they can punch into any existing job. You can even set up Chores that your techs can punch in and out of during down times. This can be handy for daily quality and safety inspections! Techs can add a note to each punch that can be viewed by you or your service writers to assist with communication around the shop.
3. Run Reports to View Efficiency
AutoFluent®’s mechanic reports will show you each punch per job. These reports will show you a side by side comparison of how many hours were billed to the customer and how many hours your tech actually worked on it. These are called the Billed Hours and Actual Hours. For example, you billed your customer for 2 full hours and your tech actually punched in for only 1.45 hours. The report uses these numbers to provide an efficiency percentage per job and per period for each tech. These important percentages can be used to both monitor and give bonuses to your techs.
